Parkfest fun

I spent the last weekend of May making Nayong Pilipino my second home. And it was such a fun learning experience!

We were asked by our Common Room and Type Kita family to help revive the Nayong Pilipino. We were to add more heART in the park and we - Anina, Carl, Jelvin and I, were tasked to write OPM song lyrics on Bamboo Chimes.

I chose the song "Umagang kay Ganda" and the lyrics "Basta't tayo'y magkasama, laging mayroong umagang kay ganda" which roughly translates to "There's always a beautiful morning / future when we work on things together. I dedicate this piece to my Family and to my Common Room family because they have given me so much learnings and we've been through a lot together and we managed to pull it off. I have found my community and I love every bit of it :)

It was quite challenging but we managed to pull it off to make our final output cohesive. I spent a lot of time helping out other artists too because it helps me know them more - how their work ethics are and how they flow during their creative process.

Tada! So here's the final artwork. L-R Jelvin Base, Carl Chua, Geli Balcruz and Anina Rubio. These were launched last May 28-29, 2016 during ParkfestPH_PH

My friends Ella and June, made a bottlecap mural, John Ed and Patrick revived an old jeepney by designing it with beautiful typography, Camy made a yummy streetfood sidewalk doodle. Actually, a lot happened over the weekend and you can check it out on this little video I made for the event :p

Do drop by Nayong Pilipino, Luneta Park if you have time! These will be part of the permanent installations alongside with other works of fellow friends and artists!

In Love and Light,
