Wow. Where did time go?

The last time I blogged here, I was full of hopes and dreams for the future. Thankfully enough, that’s exactly what happened during 2018. 2018 was a life changing year for me - well, nothing drastic happened in terms of life happenings BUT something in me greatly MOVED me to FINALLY work towards my goals in life.

I fully, completely and fiercely trust God, the source, the universe, life, that whatever happens in my life is meant to happen no matter how long the wait will take. As long as I completely believe that good things, better things are bound to happen, it will happen. All it takes is dun dun dun duuuuun SHOWING UP AND PUTTING IN THE WORK. You thought it was a secret formula, right? Well, yes, sorta. The secret to getting what you want is working towards a goal and putting tiny drops of water in your bucket until it fills up and overflows in your life.

That’s all it takes, honey. Well from time to time, magic does it work so you have to trust that too. ;)

I am extremely grateful for all the people in my life who loves and believes in me as well as those who doubts my talent. I always feel like an after thought during gigs, event invites etc. but I’m still grateful because it pushes me to thrive more.

As of now, I am fiercely diving into art, design thinking and graphic design and I cannot wait for what will happen in my life. I just want to show up more and hone my skills.

Ending this blog post with a quote form my favorite book ever.

“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

2016 Year End Review

I honestly don't know how a year end review works and i'm a little too late in posting. But this idea can't seem to leave my head so I'm going to do it anyway. I know, it's already March. But hey, let's just do this haha! :p

So here goes, I joined Arianne Serrafico's Braver Goals workshop and listened to her podcast about setting a theme for a year. If you want to listen to it also, just click on this link. One of the main points was to look back on the year that passed to assess what direction you want to take moving forward.

And so I did.

Here are some of the things I'm grateful that happened in the past year:

Booked fun projects and collaborations for Keds Philippines, Face Shop Philippines, Real Living Philippines for RL Space 2016, Typo Philippines to name a few.

I had the privilege to join several projects for the Philippines. Parkfest for Nayong Pilipino, Type Kita's Dear Philippines, where I did some of the collaterals and a Mural for Design Week Philippines - April and October! Yay!

I also did talks and demos for UP Manila, DLSU Dasma and for the first ever VegFest Pilipinas 2016.

Also, the universe made me meet people I look up to in the Calligraphy and Lettering industry, Michael Sull, Gemma O'Brien, Mister Kams and Paul Antonio etc. to name a few!

Ending 2016, I felt that I did not do well in my career because of my hiatus. But then again, I reminded myself that 2016 was a year of self-love, of healing, relearning and rebuilding. Then that made me realise that I did accomplish what that year was all about. And somehow, all the dots finally connected.

I think when you have the best support group in the world, even though at times you feel alone when doing you're craft, you'll always be reminded that they are your wings when you fly and soar high and also your home when you decide to just pause and take a break.

You can't connect the dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something: your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well worn path.
