2016 Year End Review

I honestly don't know how a year end review works and i'm a little too late in posting. But this idea can't seem to leave my head so I'm going to do it anyway. I know, it's already March. But hey, let's just do this haha! :p

So here goes, I joined Arianne Serrafico's Braver Goals workshop and listened to her podcast about setting a theme for a year. If you want to listen to it also, just click on this link. One of the main points was to look back on the year that passed to assess what direction you want to take moving forward.

And so I did.

Here are some of the things I'm grateful that happened in the past year:

Booked fun projects and collaborations for Keds Philippines, Face Shop Philippines, Real Living Philippines for RL Space 2016, Typo Philippines to name a few.

I had the privilege to join several projects for the Philippines. Parkfest for Nayong Pilipino, Type Kita's Dear Philippines, where I did some of the collaterals and a Mural for Design Week Philippines - April and October! Yay!

I also did talks and demos for UP Manila, DLSU Dasma and for the first ever VegFest Pilipinas 2016.

Also, the universe made me meet people I look up to in the Calligraphy and Lettering industry, Michael Sull, Gemma O'Brien, Mister Kams and Paul Antonio etc. to name a few!

Ending 2016, I felt that I did not do well in my career because of my hiatus. But then again, I reminded myself that 2016 was a year of self-love, of healing, relearning and rebuilding. Then that made me realise that I did accomplish what that year was all about. And somehow, all the dots finally connected.

I think when you have the best support group in the world, even though at times you feel alone when doing you're craft, you'll always be reminded that they are your wings when you fly and soar high and also your home when you decide to just pause and take a break.

You can't connect the dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something: your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well worn path.

Always remember to trust, let go and fly!

Life Lately: August 2016

2016 is a fast one, don't you think? Early this year, my friend Ella and I discussed how the concept of time is related to our goals. And I can vividly recall her message via viber "Baka mabilis ang panahon para sa mga taong naghahabol ng pangarap". (Maybe time flies for those who work hard to achieve their dreams)

I believe there's truth in her words because everyday, we hustle hard to achieve what we want in life - to travel, to have a nice future. etc. I also thought that time does fly when your having fun - tempus fugit. This year is for self-discovery and rediscovery. I'm so amazed that the universe continues to surprise me with new learnings - yoga class, pottery class, spiritual guidance etc. and new experiences - hiking up Mt. Masungi, solo travel abroad etc. etc. and I can't wait to learn and experience more!

I seriously wish that I am a quick in creating blog posts for those mentioned above. I'm glad there's Instagram to post tiny tidbits of my travels and heARTventures with you. I'm also happy to be calm and more trusting to the universe now. So much love to give out! Sending one now to you ;)

How about you, how's 2016 treating ya? Love it a little more, okay?

Love and Light,

The F word

Been watching online talks from TEDx, Refinery to Buzzfeed, anything as in any random video online as my way of learning something new everyday. Most of them about self-love and tons about motivation.

You know, no matter how positive I am as a person and as you perceive me online, I have those days when I say "F it, i'm going back to bed." But life doesn't work that way, I get upset, demotivated, sad and I feel tons of emotions that I shouldn't entertain. *meh*

And yup, you know it, at the end of the day, you only have yourself to motivate you.

So after viewing tons of videos, let me share with you this brilliant TEDxTalk by Mel Robbins on how to stop screwing yourself and finally getting outside your comfort zone. Bookmark it and play it over and over again when you need that push! ;)

Do you feel the fire burning now? Yes? YES!! Stand up and time to do the work!!

Burn bright, darling!
